When the Lord blessed me to meet Faith O'Hara, the lady destined to be my new wife, I invited her and her musical brother, Michael, to hear me sing in the “In Unison Chorus” at “Powell Symphony Hall” for their annual Christmas concert. This was the first time I met Michael, and it wasn’t very long after pre-marital counseling by their father, Bishop Leon P. O’Hara, that he actually married us. He taught us that we must be “equally yoked” as it is written in the scriptures, meaning that to have a successful marriage, you have to be on one accord with each other, and with God.
When Michael began to play this heavenly music he and Robert had written, my wife and I were impressed not only with it, but with Michael’s walk with the Lord. I have since learned that my walk with Christ wasn’t as close as it should be, and by being asked by Michael and Robert to play the role of “Judas”, it has brought me to a place of knowingness of how often I betrayed Christ in my own life. Imagine being one of twelve apostles who walked, ate, slept, and lived alongside the Savior, then betrayed him. With every performance, I have the opportunity to express how sorry I am for betraying Christ in my own life, and how “Judas” must have felt, and couldn’t keep himself from loosing his very soul. How close to the edge I came!… How close we all come! Therefore, I am grateful to spend everyday I get from God, praising His mighty name!
