Isle of Dreams

My father was a pistol for Christ! He was also a pastor, a bishop, oral surgeon, husband, and father of seven children. We were always under the watchful eyes of Christian parents, (Mom was no slouch either when it came to holiness), and the church people we were subjected to almost everyday of our lives. The Lord blessed me with the gift of singing, writing songs, and way too many other gifts to mention in one paragraph! It seems that I grew up always singing and playing from the age of seven, until now! I had little time for anything else such as most kids do. I was always busy working.

When I hit thirteen, I lost my mind,.. literally! Rock and Roll filled my life in every way imaginable. I became far too knowledgeable with drugs, sex, and just about every other vice known to the flesh. It would take almost thirty-eight years before I would allow the Lord to truly save me. All I can tell you is that when I did, it was the most wonderful day in my life! And, I have never turned back from the will of the Lord over my life. It took the slow ascension to Glory of my late father, for God to get my attention. That is when He blessed me with the honor of meeting Robert White Johnson.

From the moment we met as brothers in Christ, we bonded in Jesus for His service, and I don’t ever plan on being without him or Christ in my life, ever! That meeting has broken our wills, and netted some of the most wonderful and inspiring music I have ever written with anyone before. I speak of the music of “Isle”! Through years of struggling to make ends meet, laughter and tears, prayer, and being available for God to do His will in our lives, He has brought us this far by faith, and the future is brighter because we know Him! I thank God for meeting me on the road to “Damascus”, and turning a rank sinner into one of His apostles. This is why I can play “John”, fore I have seen the vision of the coming of the Lord! Have you?
