Michele Sevryn-
Born Catherine Michele Stearman, I changed my name to Michele Sevryn in 1963. My parents brought me up in the Catholic principles, though my mother was rather rebellious, and encouraged me to attend and learn of many religious sects, though some of them weren‘t particularly Christian, including “Self Realization Fellowship” which my grandparents attended, and was based roughly on the principles of the (Maharishi), no less! I even had Jewish godparents who taught me a lot about the “Torah”. It’s a wonder I ever became a true Christian!  My step-grandfather played cornet with big bands, and for my brother and I, that’s where most of our interest in music  came from, so my love of the stage began very early in my life, you see.
I have been in professional show business as a singer, dancer, and actress since 1962, which has placed me in the “trenches” with almost every possible scenario imaginable. Yes, I dabbled a few times with pot, didn’t like it, lived and had a few affairs without the covering of marriage, even danced as a stripper to make ends meet, and God has brought me out through it all in spite of me or the situations. I have always dreamed of being a part of an ensemble, and in Branson, I have been allowed to do just that. But never did I imagine what God had in store for me when He placed Michael O’Hara in my life that very first day he came to Branson and  sat and played in the very mall that housed the theater I was working two shows in.
From the moment I heard him sing excerpts from Isle of Dreams, I heard and felt the anointing, and was flabbergasted when he asked me to be the first artist from Branson to join his troupe. I also had no idea how much closer I would grow in God’s kingdom by being a part of this ministerial production.
You see, not being as astute in the word of God, (or at least I thought so), he was able to show me that I was living a committed life in Christ, and to say loudly and proudly before the world all that God had brought me out of,… and through! Not feeling worthy, my inward questioning of God’s word was a stumbling block till Michael told me of the scripture that God gives us the right to “Try the Lord by His word!” The sins of my youth had already been forgiven, and I had been able to stand when others had fallen. I have also learned that my walk with the Savior is a personal quest never to be completed till He comes to take me home forever!
